The Thin White Duke

One of the many things that I love about David Bowie was his unique characters & personas that he used throughout his career. Ziggy Stardust being the most renowned...

i just read a retrospective article on Bowie and it bought to light his 1976 persona "The Thin White Duke" - this character was much more refined & dressed in a cabaret-esque style. He was a souless character and was described as a "amoral zombie" and by Bowie himself "a very nasty character indeed". The 'Duke' seemed to reflect the dark personality that Bowie was portraying at the time, being addicted to the ole 'Rachmaninoff'- he apparently only injested "red peppers, Rice, cocaine and milk". mmmm...yummy!!

It's got me thinking what persona I would currently create for this time of my life....mmmm. I'll get back to you!
